Madison

Well I am skipping October and most of November for the moment. Mostly because I am in the hospital and only have certain pictures on Brandon's Lap top. So we will go to our newest addition. Madison Jacque Best born at 5:19pm November 30,2009. She weighed 7lbs 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. We had a planned induction because each week I was measuring smaller and smaller. At my 37 week check up I was only measuring 33 weeks when the week before I was right on. So they ordered a growth ultra sound for the next Monday. The Ultra sound showed that the fluid was a little low and that the baby was a little small as well. Then I few days later I go for my 38 week appointment and I was down to a 32 week measurement. This was a little concerning to the doctor and a lot to me. They ordered a stress test and another ultra sound. This one had the same results. Since this was the day before thanksgiving and most of the doctors were out they sent me home.
Most of my Family members wanted this baby to arrive on Thanksgiving, so I would have a holiday family, but Madison was not ready. Sunday night Brandon calls the hospital to find out what time we are supposed to come in. They told us it would probably be around 10:30 but call them at 9:00am on Monday to double check. Monday morning I woke up around 4:00am to excited to sleep. I started finishing up little things around the house and setting up Christmas decorations. When at 8:49am I get a call from the hospital asking me how quickly I can get there. I told them we just had to wait for Jaxson's Papa to arrive at our house. Here is a picture of me waiting patiently to leave . . .We finally arrived at the hospital at 10:00 and checked in. The nurse started hooking me up to the pitocine at 10:50. Everyone kept texting wanting an update and I had no idea how long it would take. So I said I would update them when I could. My mom and Mary afraid of missing the birth showed up around 12:30. Well it took much longer than I thought and I started getting really bored and anxious.

I was progressing slowly. I came in at 2 cm, a couple hours later I was at a three and then she did not check for a while. My contractions were all over the place. I was getting nervous that this was going to be a December baby. Around 4pm the nurse says oh you will have this baby before 7pm when I am off. I was like ya right the rate I am going. She checked and I was at a five. She started setting up for the doctor and I am still thinking to myself there is no way I am going to go that fast now. About 4:50 she says lets sit you up so gravity can help a litte. I set up and almost immediately feel the pressure. This gets me excited but still thinking I have a while. The doctor wanders in and starts getting suited up and I all the sudden start feeling the need to push. The doctor sits down to take a look and says, "whoa that baby is right there". They have me push once and everyone can see the head, I push a second time and the hair was out. They tell me to push a third time right as the doctor tells a joke and it is very difficult to push while laughing, finally I push a third time and out comes baby. It was the quickest easiest thing. She did not cry a lot so they kept rubbing her and messing with her so she would keep crying. I know I was crying as well as Mary, My mom and Brandon. It was such a great feeling. I feel in love with this baby the moment I saw her. I haven't stopped smiling since. I did not have any tearing which has helped. I hope I never forget how happy I have been since having this baby. Especially once I get home and taking care of two on no sleep ;)
